Who Qualifies For A Bursary Or University Student Loan From NSFAS?



The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has formally opened the 2025 application procedure.

Applications at the moment are open and can shut on 15 December 2024.

*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding

To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant must satisfy the following criteria:

• Be considered a South African citizen or copyright who comes from a home by using a combined gross household earnings that doesn't exceed R350 000 for every annum.

• Individuals with disabilities qualify if their combined residence cash flow would not exceed R600 000 per annum.

• SASSA recipients automatically qualify for funding and want not submit any proof of income.

The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open up to all South African citizens and permanent people from homes with combined R350 000 and R600 000 for each annum.

Applicants are reminded to supply the correct Id Doc numbers, names, and surname, as reflected within their South African ID.

NSFAS only funds individuals who are researching or plan to study at a general public university or TVET college in South Africa.

All students who wish to study in any of the public universities and TVET colleges should apply timeously and not to wait until the last day.

Learners do not have to wait for matric results to apply for NSFAS. They should apply now and avoid delays in the processing of their application.
